Overview
Asset management provides the linkages between the council’s strategic plan for its infrastructure and the whole life management of its assets, the investment decisions associated with managing these assets through time, and any related needs and wants that may be involved in their use to create further value.
We were commissioned to review the existing plan just prior to adoption of a new code of practice for Highways management. We considered the technical relevance of the engineering Inputs used in existing practice, consulted widely on the needs and aspirations of different stakeholders, and considered the information management processes and presentation in use against Do Nothing, Do Minimum and Do Something scenarios. We produced 26 recommendations, 7 of which needed to be taken forward quickly and were subsequently adopted by the Authority.
